Obtaining a visa for education in Germany
Important requirements for applying for a visa are:
confirmation of the educational institution on enrollment in the curriculum or confirmation of participation in the competition;
financial guarantees.
Confirmation of the educational institution on enrollment in the curriculum or confirmation of participation in the competition may be:
enrollment letter;
certificate on receipt of the university documents of the entrant;
for PhD students: invitation from the supervisor / research institution and a brief description of the project;
for students: confirmation of a host school in Germany, as well as an invitation from a family or hostel to confirm accommodation and nutrition, in the case of international student exchange, confirmation of the Ukrainian school and organization facilitating the exchange is also required;
confirmation of registration at a language school with information on the number of hours of study on courses per week (intensive course lasting at least 18 hours per week) and confirmation of payment for the course.
The applicant may also need a certificate of admission to university.
The requirements regarding the applicant’s financial guarantees are aimed at confirming that the applicant on arrival in Germany will be able to support himself and will not need the assistance of the state. Funding of at least € 659 per month during the first academic year must be confirmed. That is, you should confirm the availability of 7908 Euros by:
the submission of an official sponsorship letter, in which a third party undertakes a written commitment to cover the costs associated with the applicant’s stay in Germany;
depositing the required amount on a blocked account in Germany;
applying for a scholarship of 659 euros per month. In case the scholarship is below the stated amount, the difference should be covered in accordance with the above options.
Documents for obtaining a student / student visa to Germany:
a visa application form;
photos;
applicant’s national passport;
health insurance;
confirmation of the educational institution on enrollment in the curriculum or confirmation of participation in the competition;
documents confirming financial guarantees;
acknowledgment of the last completed school or higher education;
motivation letter;
biography with full address and contact information;
confirmation of proficiency in the language of instruction (the minimum level must correspond to the level B1 of the Common European Standard GER);
Minor applicants must additionally submit a birth certificate and a notarized parental permission to leave and study.
Temporary residence permits for students / students are issued on the basis of the training course, for a maximum of two years, but may be further extended if necessary in the framework of the training. The total length of stay in the country in connection with training may not exceed ten years.
Staying in Germany after graduation
Foreign graduates of German universities who want to stay and look for a job can extend their existing residence for up to 18 months (and work without restrictions). The conditions for such an extension are the presence of a diploma, health insurance and the ability to support themselves financially.
