No time to read
Greece is renowned not only as a tourist destination but also as one of the most popular countries for relocation and immigration.
The main reasons for its popularity include a comfortable lifestyle, a high quality of life by international standards, and favorable conditions for obtaining legal status in the EU.
Greek immigration legislation provides several grounds for obtaining a residence permit for foreigners.
In this article, we will describe one of the ways to obtain a residence permit in Greece in 2023 for the entire family, valid for 2 years.
Greece has a program for citizens of non-EU countries who have sufficient resources in the form of a stable annual income to cover their living expenses in Greece.
Applicants must demonstrate that they can support themselves and their family without the need to work in Greece. However, remote work for a foreign employer is permitted!
There are two ways to obtain a residency visa — Financially Independent Person (FIP) Visa:
Apply based on a passive source of income (i.e., not salary-based).
Apply based on personal savings.
➡️ Applying based on stable and regular passive income
The required minimum income should be at least 2000 euros per month, and this amount increases by 20% for the second spouse and +15% for each child.
➡️ Applying based on savings
Considering that the visa will be issued for a period of 2 years, you will need to prove that you have sufficient savings to live and support yourself along with your family in Greece during this time.
Therefore, if you are applying as a single applicant, you need to have available savings of at least 48,000 euros.
If you are applying as a couple, this amount increases to 57,600 euros. For a family of four (spouses with two minors), you need to have savings of at least 86,400 euros.
